Her Story

Her Story: A Filmmaking Workshop for Young Women is a week-long residential program designed to empower aspiring female filmmakers in Nepal. The workshop aims to nurture a new generation of women in the film industry by providing them with hands-on training, creative mentorship, and a collaborative environment to develop their storytelling skills through cinema.

Since its inception, the Her Story workshop has been held twice—first in 2017 and again in 2019. Across both sessions, 44 young women have participated in the program, receiving intensive guidance from experienced mentors and industry professionals. The initiative seeks to address gender disparities in the film sector and foster a supportive community of women storytellers in Nepal.
