Our Team Members
Govinda Siwakoti has been in the field of visual communication for more than six years now. A graduate of media technology from Purwanchal University, he is very passionate about movies and photography and credits most of his knowledge to self-learning and experimentation. He has written and directed short movies (“In Three Years”, “Aakashmik Laabh”) that have been recognized nationally and internationally. He also worked as Assistant Director for the Nepali feature film “Badhshala”.
Surath Giri comes from a research background. He worked in various research positions at Samriddhi, The Prosperity Foundation before jumping into the entrepreneurial journey with Onion Films. He loves reading, researching, and writing and therefore, is responsible for developing concept notes and writing screenplays/scripts at Onion Films. His varied interest areas include economics, development, public policy, movies, entrepreneurship and information communication technology.
Lead Editor & Animator
Gopal Shivakoti has been working in the media field for more than a decade. Before joining Onion Films, he worked for various national and international media companies as Senior editor and animator. He is the ultimate go-to guy for anything related to editing and animation in the team.
Nabin Bhatt is responsible for visual editing at Onion Films. He also helps out in the logistics of our events. He stumbled into us as a participant of our movie-making workshop and decided to join the team after graduating from the workshop. He has also directed a short movie (“Astitwa”) and a short documentary (“Rise and Fall”) based on the impact of the earthquake in Nepal.
Cinematographer, Production Controller
A student of Business Administration, Rajan dreams of shooting an award-winning movie someday. He has already shot a few short movies and documentaries including Astitwa and Rise and Fall. He is our cinematographer and production controller.
Before joining Onion Films as a photographer and cinematographer, Ranjit used to be a fashion and product photographer and has also worked as a cinematographer for a short movie called “Umbara”. He has also directed a short documentary called “Back Again to Rise” who tells the stories of fish farmers affected by the earthquake of April 2015 in Nepal.
